For most installs - especially permanent ones on a house or solid structure - a stainless steel wire rope system is best: it is strong, flexible and can be tensioned tightly to keep the netting secure. Polyethylene rope suits lighter or temporary setups.

Tip: once tensioned, cable-tie each end so it holds.
